About Us

Who Are We?

Peniel Ministries (www.peniel.ro) is an evangelical youth organization of Pentecostal orientation that has been working in Romania since 1995 promoting moral, civic and biblical values amongst the young generation.

The name “Peniel”, inspired from Genesis chapter 32, represents us the best. Likewise Jacob, the runaway, the deceiver, who had an “occasional faith” in God, many young people find themselves in the critical situation of having to face God and to be confronted with the need to put their lives in order. When Jacob saw God, he became a new person!

Peniel” means “the face of God“, therefore, we want every Peniel event to be a place where God shows His face so that every participant could meet God personally.

Peniel Activities:

In Romania, Peniel Ministries mainly organizes youth camps and conferences:

  1. a national conference around Easter time (up to 3-4000 people),
  2. a leadership conference in May,
  3. a youth camp in July (up to 800 people),
  4. a youth camp in August (up to 800 people),
  5. a young families conference in Sept./Oct. (25 couples only),
  6. a regional conference in Oct./Nov. (up to 1000 people),
  7. apologetics conferences – one at every 1-2 months.

Since 2009, Peniel has extended its ministry to USA. Thus, in May of 2009 we’ve organized our first camp for the Romanian-American youth in Arizona (over 200 participants). In 2010, we’ve organized two camps in USA (200 participants per camp in Arizona and Alabama). In 2011, we’ll organize camps in California and Tennessee.

We’ve also extended our ministry to the Romanian youth in the European countries. Thus in Oct. of 2009, Peniel organized its first youth conference in Spain (over 450 participants). It was followed by the second one in December of 2010. In Oct. of 2010, we’ve organized a conference in Austria (600 participants). This year we’ll organize again conferences in Spain and Austria. In 2010, we’ve officially started Peniel International Ministries.

Moreover, Peniel Ministry

1. promotes Global University discipleship books and system (www.globaluniversity.edu),

2. encourages and supports inner and foreign mission. Ex. Some of our leaders lead short term mission trips to Ukraine and Rep. of Moldova; other two of our leaders serve God in Afghanistan as long term missionaries.

Accomplishments:

Though all our activities we touched with the Gospel of Christ over 29.000 youth (at least one time exposure). Many others were reached by us through mass-media (ex. AOTV, CREDO TV, CBN, TBN Europe). Out of these, a great number received Jesus as personal Savior, were healed spiritually and/or physically, and were baptized in the Holy Spirit. A good number of our participants answered God’s call to ministry and are presently involved in Christian service.

We have built good relationships with many evangelical churches from Romania and abroad. In February of 2007, Peniel Ministry signed a Protocol of cooperation with the main Pentecostal denomination – Cultul Creştin Penticostal from Romania (over 2.800 churches) and it’s open to do likewise with other Evangelical denominations. In 2009, a similar protocol was signed with AG/USA.

We’ve recorded 2 live worship albums and a series of video recordings of our national conferences (You can watch them at www.alfaomega.tv – go to Video on Demand & see Conferintele Peniel). You can also see many videos about Peniel on youtube.

In the future we want:

  1. to improve what we are doing in Romania,
  2. to extend our ministry in the Romanian Diaspora,
  3. to cooperate with other youth ministries for the advancement of God’s Kingdom among the youth,
  4. to buy a piece of land as base for our activities,
  5. to build a Christian camp.
